You Are Loved
At the core of everything we do is the desire to be a church family that lives and loves like Jesus.
What We Believe
The BibleWe believe that the Bible was divinely written through men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the source of truth about God and the standard by which we receive instruction on life and faith.
Mark 7:8-13; John 5:46; II Timothy 3:16,17; II Peter 1:21
JesusWe believe that Jesus Christ was born to a virgin named Mary, through the Holy Spirit. In His incarnation, He was fully God and fully human and lived sinlessly. He was vindicated as the Messiah by His resurrection from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God, waiting for His second coming.
Matthew 1:18-25; Romans 8:3, John 1:1-14; I Timothy 3:16
GodWe believe that there is one, and only one, true and living God. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
John 5:32-37; John 10:30,36; John 14:16-26; Philippians 2:6; Isaiah 48:16
Holy SpiritWe believe the Holy Spirit indwells a Christian at salvation and daily fills him/her for effective service. He is the active personality in convicting individuals of sin and in maturing individuals in their faith. We do not believe that a person receives the Holy Spirit subsequent to salvation as a “second blessing,” or that true evidence of salvation is through possession of any one spiritual gift given by the Holy Spirit.
John 14:14-17; John 16:5-15; Acts 1:6-8
ManWe believe that God created humans in his image but they willfully violated the commands of God, bringing physical and spiritual death. This willful act of disobedience is known as sin, and that since then, all human beings are born with sin and are separated from God.
Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 5:12
Repentance & FaithWe believe salvation is a relationship with Jesus Christ in which an individual acknowledges that sin has separated him from God, turns from sin to the true Living God, and receives by faith a spiritual birth resulting in eternal life.
Acts 20:21; 26:20; Romans 10:9-10
ChurchWe believe that church consists of those who have professed Jesus as Lord and are bound together in the faith and fellowship of the gospel.
Acts 2:40-47; Matthew 28:20
In addition to these doctrines, this church affirms and supports the other fundamental doctrines presented in The Baptist Faith and Message, as adopted in the 1963 Southern Baptist Convention.
SalvationWe believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice. He was victorious over death and was raised to life so that all who believe and personally accept His death and life are justified before God and will have eternal life with God in Heaven. We do not believe that salvation and eternal life are based on any work other than that of Jesus, or that God offers a universal salvation, allowing all people to eventually be in Heaven with Him.
Matthew 27:45-56; Romans 3:21-31; John 3:14-17
Roles & Biblical Leadership
We affirm the complementarian view of the roles of women and men in the home and in the church. Complementarianism holds that “God has created men and women equal in their essential dignity and human personhood, but different and complementary in function with male headship in the home and in the Church.
